Gravetye's Head Chef Charles Coulombeau

takes 1st place in prestigious cooking competition

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our Head Chef Charles Coulombeau won the international final of the 53rd “Le Taittinger” Culinary Prize held yesterday in Paris. Winning this contest known as the “Everest of Gastronomy” is a testament to Charles’s absolute passion and commitment to his profession. On behalf of all the team at Gravetye, we couldn’t be prouder!

Charles is only the 2nd UK finalist to come first in this competition since it started in the late sixties, beating competition from Belgium, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland. Charles is pictured here with Emmanuel Renaut, president of the competition and Dominique Crenn, president of the judging panel in the final.
