Autumn Foraging Workshop with Fern Freud
Monday 29th & Tuesday 30th September 2025
Step off the beaten path and into the wild at Gravetye Manor with Fern Freud, a foraging teacher and wild food educator. With years of experience guiding people through hedgerows, meadows, and woodlands, Fern’s workshops are known for being joyful, informative, and deeply rooted in a love for the land.
Whether you're a complete beginner or already au fait with the ingredients that grow in our wild spaces, Fern’s foraging workshops offer an immersive way to learn how to identify, harvest, and use edible plants safely and respectfully. You'll walk away with a new way of seeing the world around you, as well as the knowledge and confidence to start foraging for yourself. Expect to discover unexpected flavours, forgotten folklore, and a sense of connection to the seasons that’s hard to find in everyday life.
Fern’s approach is as much about rekindling curiosity as it is about learning practical skills — from cooking with nettles and making wild flower syrups to understanding the ecosystems we harvest from. Her workshops weave together botany, storytelling, safety, and sustainability, helping people of all ages and backgrounds to slow down, tune in, and feel at home in nature.
Every walk is different — shaped by the landscape, the time of year, and the people who join — but what stays the same is the sense of wonder, community, and nourishment you’ll carry home.
Gathering at 9.30am and finishing at approximately 1.30pm.
£170.00 per person, includes tea/coffee and pastries on arrival, 2 course lunch, wine, and the workshop.
Please note that you will be sat at a shared table.
Parts of the workshop are over uneven ground and may involve slopes. The ground may also be wet. Please bring appropriate footwear for exploring the countryside and clothing in case of inclement weather.
