Dining with us

George Blogg - Head Chef

I can’t think of a place where I would rather be working, the combination of the history, the amazing setting and fresh ingredients from the kitchen garden make cooking here an absolute joy.

From unhurried classical dining in our atmospheric wood panelled restaurant to leisurely lunches in the garden, from traditional Afternoon Teas to our very reasonable Daily Menu – we hope to delight and enchant with our food regardless of the occasion.

The dress code for the restaurant at Gravetye Manor is smart casual. Smart jeans are acceptable and in the evening most men do tend to wear a jacket. There is a sense of occasion when dining at Gravetye, therefore do not be surprised if you are surrounded by diners in their Sunday best!

Children over seven years are welcome in our dining room. Younger children can only be accepted when part of a private party using one of our private dining rooms, this includes ‘babes in arms’.

Please note that some of our menu prices will be increasing from 1st May 2017, for the very latest information please contact our reception team on 01342 810567.

My wife and I have stayed in many Relais Chateaux locations over many years (the Guide is our holiday "Bible"). Gravetye has been our annual Mecca for at least the last 20 years since we first discovered it when crossing the UK from the Continent to Ireland while we resided in Luxembourg. We always stay there when going to Glyndebourne. It is in our humble (but experienced based) opinion one of the very best hotels in the world - and we have visited all continents.

I would just like to say our experience as always at Gravetye was amazing and very enjoyable, all our guests were very impressed with the polite and courteous service provided by the staff. It also goes without say that the food was beautiful. Thank you very much and see you next year.

Always wanted to stay and dine at Gravetye Manor, high expectations but these were met with fantastic service, friendly and attentive staff, lovely hotel and comfortable room, excellent food, picturesque surroundings and amazing attention to detail.

When and how to add seasoning is very important. Head chef George explains: "you can always add a little more salt, but you can never take it away".
