During
and after the war, Gravetye, like many other properties of its
kind suffered from labour shortages and other economic difficulties.
Since 1958, the present proprietors, Peter Herbert and his family,
have been offering the best kind of country house hospitality.
Today, Gravetye Manor is recognised worldwide |
|
|
as one of the leading establishments in its
class. The bedrooms are named after trees on the estate instead
of being numbered. Although there is modern central heating,
the wood
|
|
fires still burn fragrantly in all the public
rooms. A constant aim is the continuation of the gardens that
Robinson established which are a living Gravetye tradition.
