Garden Talk: Dan Pearson on the restoration of the gardens at Folly Farm, Berkshire

Folly Farm is arguably the best example of the renowned collaborations between the architect, Edwin Lutyens, and garden designer, Gertrude Jekyll, a contemporary and friend of William Robinson. Dan has worked closely with the clients to completely renovate the garden, which has involved, amongst many other things, the meticulous restoration of the historic hard landscaping, the creation of new naturalistic planting schemes inspired by Jekyll, installation of a new lake to attract wildlife, and the completion of a new design for the 1-acre productive walled garden, which was never completed in Lutyens' lifetime.  Garden designer, broadcaster and journalist, Dan began his professional career as a garden and landscape designer in 1987, and was one of the earliest contemporary practitioners of naturalistic perennial planting in the UK.
Gathering at 12.30pm for 1.00pm.
